General Lessons

The discipline of weekly scheduled lessons is the most successful method of mastering the art of horseback riding.

Greenwell offers a solid program for beginning to intermediate riders. Building on the fundamentals of developing good seat and leg position, “quiet” hands and good communication with the horse; our students also learn the basic care of the horse, proper grooming and tacking techniques and after riding care. Our goal is to enrich our students’ ability, knowledge and enjoyment of horses through safe, structured, achievement oriented sequences of experiences, progressing from the fundamentals of horsemanship to the finer points.

Our facility sits on a 600 acre state park that offers:
  • Eleven stall modern, wheelchair accessible barn
  • Accessible barn with a large classroom/grooming area
  • 2 outdoor arenas with lighting
  • Spacious paddocks
  • Over 10 miles of trails
  • An auxiliary five stall barn with private tack and feed room
